Introduction
A scout patch is a custom embroidered emblem — thread stitched onto a fabric backing — that recognizes an achievement, marks membership in a troop or pack, or commemorates an event, camp, or anniversary. It can be worn on a uniform, a sash, a camp blanket, a neckerchief, or a jacket.
If you lead a troop, pack, group, or unit, you don’t need to know embroidery to create one. That’s our job. We take your idea — a hand-drawn sketch, a logo, or even a rough description — and professionally review it for embroidery, then explain your choices in plain language before anything is manufactured.
Our goal is to help you feel confident about what you’re ordering and what it will cost, long before you commit. We educate first, recommend honestly, and confirm every detail with you at each stage.
Who It’s For
Custom scout patches are made for the leaders and volunteers who bring a group together:
- Scout leaders and assistant leaders recognizing rank, skills, and merit achievements.
- Pack, troop, and group organizers creating a shared identity everyone wears with pride.
- Camp and event coordinators commemorating jamborees, camps, hikes, and anniversaries.
- Fundraising and parent committees producing keepsake patches members trade and collect.
- New or small groups ordering their very first patch — even a single piece to start.
At its heart, a scout patch is about belonging. It tells a young member, you earned this, and you’re part of something. We help you honor that with craftsmanship that lasts.
Benefits — Why Embroidered, Why Us
Guidance from people, not an order form
You’ll work with experienced people who explain every option in plain language. If you’re unsure about size, backing, or artwork, we’ll walk you through it and recommend the option that fits your group.
Budget clarity before you commit
Because pricing depends on size, quantity, colors, and finishing, every project receives a transparent, itemized quotation. You’ll see what shapes the cost and can adjust the design to suit your budget — with no obligation to proceed.
Crafted to survive real scouting
Camps, hikes, and years of wear are demanding. Your patches are crafted with precision, using durable thread and secure backing so achievements stay looking sharp on sashes, blankets, and jackets.
Reviewed before production
Every design is professionally reviewed before manufacturing begins. Fine details, small text, and badge shapes are checked for embroidery, and we share a digital proof and a production sample photo for your approval — so there are no surprises.

Available Options
Two decisions shape most scout patches — how it attaches (backing) and how the edge is finished (border). If you’re not sure, leave it to us; we’ll recommend the right option during your artwork review.
Backing — how your patch attaches
- Iron-On — Convenient application with a household or heat press; popular for sashes and event patches applied by parents and members.
- Sew-On — The most secure, long-lasting attachment for uniforms worn week after week.
- Velcro / Hook-and-Loop — Interchangeable placement, handy for members who move patches between garments or displays.
Border — how the edge is finished
- Merrow Border — A classic raised, stitched edge for standard rounded and shield shapes.
- Hot-Cut Border — A clean, precise edge for detailed or custom outlines, such as flames, animals, or emblems.
Size
Most scout and achievement patches sit between 2 and 4 inches, but there’s no fixed rule — commemorative and back-of-blanket designs can be larger. Size affects how much fine detail is possible, so we’ll advise a size that keeps names, dates, and small symbols legible.

FAQs
How much do custom scout patches cost?
Pricing depends on size, quantity, colors, backing, and border, so every troop receives a tailored quotation. Request a free quote and we’ll prepare clear, itemized pricing you can share with your committee or budget for the season.
Can I order just one patch, or a small quantity for a small troop?
Yes. There’s no minimum order quantity, whether you need a single keepsake or a run for the whole group. Small groups are always welcome.
I’ve never ordered patches before and I’m not an embroidery expert. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Most of the leaders we work with aren’t embroidery experts, and that’s completely fine. We explain every option in plain language and guide you through each step, so you always know what to choose and why.
Can you work from a child’s drawing or a hand-sketched design?
Yes. A hand-drawn sketch, a scanned drawing, or a rough concept is a perfectly good starting point. We prepare it for embroidery and show you a digital proof for approval before anything is manufactured.
Which backing should I choose for uniforms and sashes?
Sew-on is the most secure choice for uniforms and sashes worn regularly, while iron-on is convenient for event and camp patches. If you’re unsure, tell us how the patches will be worn and we’ll recommend the right option.
How long will my scout patches take?
Timelines depend on the design, quantity, and finishing. After your artwork review and approvals, we confirm a realistic production and delivery timeline and keep you updated throughout.
